Straumann vs Nobel Biocare vs Hiossen vs BioHorizons: Which Implant Is Right for Your All-on-X?

An implant specialist's comparison of the four implant systems used at ALL-ON-X Istanbul — Straumann Roxolid SLA, Nobel Biocare, Hiossen and BioHorizons — for full-arch treatment.

Key takeaways
  • All four systems used at ALL-ON-X — Straumann Roxolid SLA, Nobel Biocare, Hiossen and BioHorizons — are premium implants with long clinical track records.
  • The implant brand is the only difference between our full-arch packages. Everything else is included.
  • Your brand, model, size and position are recorded in your implant passport, so any dentist in the world can service your implants.

Why the implant brand matters

An implant is the titanium root that carries your new teeth for decades. Three things separate a premium implant system from a generic one:

  1. Surface technology — how quickly and strongly bone bonds to the implant.
  2. Documentation — years of published clinical data and quality-controlled manufacturing.
  3. Global availability of parts — so a dentist in London, Riyadh or Berlin can maintain your implants years from now.

All four systems we use meet these three criteria.

Straumann Roxolid SLA (Switzerland)

Straumann is one of the most researched implant companies in the world. Roxolid is a titanium–zirconium alloy that is stronger than pure titanium, which allows narrower implants to be used where bone is thin. The SLA surface is sandblasted and acid-etched to support fast, reliable bone integration.

Best for: patients who want the premium Swiss option, narrower ridges, and maximum long-term documentation.

Nobel Biocare (Switzerland / Sweden)

Nobel Biocare grew out of the original Swedish research on osseointegration and is closely associated with the development of the All-on-4® treatment concept. It has decades of full-arch experience and a wide range of implants and multi-unit abutments designed for tilted placement.

Best for: classic All-on-4 and All-on-6 cases, especially with tilted posterior implants.

Hiossen (USA)

Hiossen is the US arm of Osstem, one of the largest implant manufacturers in the world. It offers a dependable, well-supported system for full-arch work at very strong value.

Best for: patients who want a premium-grade full arch with excellent value for money.

BioHorizons (USA)

BioHorizons implants are known for Laser-Lok®, a laser-machined collar designed to help the gum and bone attach around the top of the implant — the area most exposed to everyday forces and bacteria.

Best for: patients who are concerned about long-term gum and bone stability around implants.

Questions

Which implant brand is best for All-on-4?

All four systems we use are premium, documented implant systems suitable for full-arch treatment. The best choice depends on your bone quality, the number of implants planned and your budget. Your CT scan guides the recommendation.

Does the implant brand change the price?

Yes. At ALL-ON-X the full-arch packages differ only by implant system; the titanium bar, zirconia teeth, temporary teeth, scans, hotel and transfers are included in every package.

Will I know which implant I received?

Yes. Every patient receives a dental implant passport listing the brand, model, size and position of each implant.
